if someone is going to try and do you over, its from the second they meet you, they can tell you are a nice guy and they have learnt from a young age how to minipulate people, so a simple, ' no problem just sign here that its an extra ££££ and i will do it' they will kick up a fuss there and then and throw the dummy out the pram, or if i think they are going to be funny i make sure they know everything else will be charged extra before i even start, might aswell not get the job than loose sleep over it later i say.

Almost never do written quotes, only if they ask for one.

Always agree a price, shake their hand and always get paid.

I agree with you Dean, I think people tend to live up to your expectations, treat them as honest and trust worth and the will be.

I hate paper work, takes me all my time to get round to doing invoices, don't need the hassle of quotes as well.

I agree with Dean too. It wasn't the fact that it wasn't in writing, it was that no price was agreed before the extras were done. That was the mistake, imo.

Written quotes and emails when requested, but otherwise everyone we come across are sound as a pound!
