I think the range in pay is to wide, not many are going to come in at £21k considering what tickets you require, perhaps narrow the gap a little.

I was discussing a similar situation with @kevinjohnsonmbe the other day, I was offered a full time job, the pay was £28-£34k with a van. We all know after negotiations that would be £30k/year.

I don't know how you and anyone you interview can find middle ground with such a wide pay range.

Afternoon, thanks for the feedback. Although we are hoping for someone with more experience and qualifications, I was also prepared to work with a less qualified / experienced applicant to build them up, and tried to offer a salary bracket to reflect this. I do see you point though that it could put off a more experienced applicant. Will look at the advert and see if I can reflect this better in the wording, or change the salary bracket, just don't want to put off someone newer to the industry. Thanks. Peter

Bus drivers earn more.

Also, Croxley and the surrounding areas are expensive. I used to live in Watford/Leavesden and 21k won't go far around there.

Bus drivers do the same route n same shit every day til they pack it in. My concern is companies who promise a good rate then when you get there you find its 'basic plus bonus' so if you get on an under priced ( the companies fault)  contract yr often ending up with just yr basic flat rate say 18 to 21 grand. This is a shitty way to treat staff but the big companies have or are using this scheme on some contracts. Often you see crews cherry picking out the good jobs then someone has to clear out the crap.  K
