Fire station broken into

A few years back a local lad broke into our fire station and took the bloody fire engine?.He got about 5 miles before being brought to a safe stop,he had a few mental issues and pretty much got away with it,he reckoned a few others had bet him to do it,trouble was the damage was to the doors mostly cos he drove her straight out through em

They often use them to steal catalytic converters. Few years ago a mate's fire station in Fleet had their cutters stolen, soon after that lots of cars in NW London had cats cut off with the shears.

There was an inventory classification for such items in military stores - UID - “useful to the ill disposed.”

 

Quite a broad range of materiel was classified as UID and it always attracted a higher degree of accounting and security. 
 

I can see how those ‘jaws of life’ could  certainly be very handy for the ill disposed!
