Bloody stuff,i used to moan about it and he,d say if you want chain oil go and buy it?

Yea it was a black mess . I'm talking back in the 70s . I soon packed that up !

Been mixing Aspen 4 with Red Line at 50:1 for years ( well since Aspen came out ) Don't see why you could not mix at whatever ratio you want but can't see the need to go below 50:1 .

Stubbers, do you use this mix for performance gains or just to preserve the saws ?

There are , I am told , little blue pills for " performance gains " ? As for the saws I use the Alkylate fuel because it is cleaner ( inside the engine ) and less intrusive fumes wise . I use the Red Line coz its the best ! IMHO .

 Not to mention it tends to be acidic and contains Products of Incomplete Combustion, especially in diesels, and they contain known carcinogens, ref earlier discussions about wearing gloves when working on engines and not putting oily rags or hands in pockets.
