remember at around the 5 hr mark, do an oil change, get rid of all the running in gunk out of your engine, and if your going to run it through the winter, a good quality 5w/30 oil back in

Thanks guys ,God there are so many diffrent oils to choose from ,I normally buy cheap and cheerfull for my old diesel van so looking for a good quality oil and it aint cheap but yeah as its brand new then got to look after it ,I do wish the lean to that my mill is in was bigger will have to extend it in the spring and think of a way of putting a movable front on it to keep the weather off the mill ,that lean to is where I fell off that bloody ladder and did my ankle in .

Why spend 7k on a saw and skimp on oil ?

He's making the point that he does not want to skimp on the oil for the Mill like he would normally do in an old car.

Yeah was just saying there are so many diffrent types of oil ,mineral,semi synth and synth honestly the rack with the oil was massive ,so with a brand new mill defo had to have good oil.

@gobbypunkand do remember with the volume of dust yr kicking up, yr air filter is critical. Good oil does not mean fit for yr VW turbo engine. A good semi synthetic will do - with a thinner grade as mentioned for winter. I would knock up a lorry curtain with a scaffold pole for weight at the bottom to screen off the elements, try a haulage company, they may have a ripped curtain sider fr swaps fr logs  ?  K
