I had an interesting call from a large estate on the Staffs / Shropshire border . Asking if I would be interested in delivering unsplit rings of timber .

Fresh timber will be ok as long as it has been ringed up and ready to split . Turns out its a friend of a friend but he wants to pay . They have had un reliable firewood delivery . So now want to stock up . How much would you charge for 1 ton of timber all ringed up and tipped off . Oh he wants lots ? cheers .

The same as if they were seasoned and split logs imo. Okay you aint got the hastle of storing them and then splitting and delivering etc but they're still future dosh.

I have had loads of calls for people wanting rings and timber to cut up and split, i just say no i only sell logs, how much do you charge for a "car" load? way i see it is ther just after cheap wood, i make more on logs per bag than in rings. Guess your a bit diferent as you dont do logs so i guess i would say £40 per ton delivered or £30 if they want to pick up from your yard. What ever you do dont let them have it cheap, there only after cheap fuel and doing another log man out of trade.

If its £30 to £40 roads side. You then need money to collect it, cut it, load it & deliver it.

The splitting is just a small part of the job. I would say just a bit less than the cost of split logs.
