I really like the Bdb.  The RRP is different, equally good, a bit more refined.  
 
The bdb is simple and bombproof.  Mine is very worn now so doesn’t handle thinner ropes.  I still use it on an older piece of tachyon when I am doing sappy trees like pine and spruce.


Did you know that you can buy every single component separately for the BDB? That’s how I’ve kept mine going. Just order them from Gordon.
It’s the best device I’ve ever used by a long way because it’s simple and small.
I do want to try the RRP though.

How long have you used it for and have you a photo to give an idea on size and weight.

A video I made quite a few years ago.  The BDB is the same principle just a few of the bits look slightly different in the newer versions.

I worked with a climber last week that had a rr pro and look a very nice price of kit. 

 

The only thing that concerned him was the rope wear on the plate above the pulley and the cost to replace that part.

 

Read that a ce one should be here this spring.
