How much do you charge as a subbie for the use of your own truck?

I lived and worked in Lewisham/Greenwich area for years.

No one in that area could get a truck for a day for a 100’er if theirs had issues or required additional capacity on a job.

I would base your charges on a 100 plus fuel per day.  Plus vat if you are in that bracket.

Local hire company to us charge about £70 a day incl insurance. Of course this goes down for multiple days. So i think £60 plus fuel may not be that far off.

This. If a subby wanted £150 for his Transit I'd just tell him to go via the hire comapny on his way to work...

London is a different place!, if I/you tried to pull £100+mileage in Suffolk for a Transit we'd be on a hiding to nothing. It'd be a good days money plus fuel.

Just tell them what you want with your truck and labour for the day, I don't see why it needs breaking down to tools, truck, labour.

There are loads of tipper chippers running around London, I could tell you of 40 plus outfits within 10 miles of me.

The competition drags the price right down.  A groundworker with a newish, good condition high sided tipper is about £200 a day. Good climbers are obviously going to be a lot more for the combo.
