So... you're worried about this all being a step towards a cashless society and the small businesses will have to close and the market will become dominated by the big corporations that operate online.

But you're not going to go to shops that require you to wear a mask unless absolutely essential.

I get it that people don't like wearing masks, it's not very pleasant and I'd much rather see everyone else's faces too,  but is your brief discomfort more important than supporting your local businesses through this difficult time?

I'm still going to the shops and spending hard cash. I won't be wearing a face covering as I have a card that says my hidden disability makes me exempt. (Never thought common sense would ever be classed as a disability).

Where do you get these cards? One lad on the Chopper out here was exempt from the mask. Looks perfectly normal too.

Ah cool. So anyone can buy one and claim to have a disability? Sounds great. :D

Can't be questioned as it's your private medical history. If they refuse you entry they are discriminating against you and you will obviously go to the papers. Many shops support this scheme anyway.

What about going into bank with face covering??

Same as it's always been, don't shout 'Give me the money!', and you'll be alright.

This afternoon, I was driving through town, and noticed an ambulance parked near the chipper (fish & chipper). Wondering who was going be wheeled out on the gurney, I parked and rubbernecked in my wing mirrors. Four paramedics were going in and out of the chipper for about ten minutes, and no casualty appeared. Then I noticed one paramedic had a bag of chips. Then I see them taking each others photos in front of the chipper. Then - would you believe it - they four each take turns to take each others photo with the staff, standing next to the (young lad) staff inside the front door opening, shoulder to shoulder. I couldn't see if they had their arms around his shoulders, but it would not surprise me. Do you think there were any masks involved in all of this carry-on? Nope. Neither staff nor ambulance crew. Social distancing? Not a hope. These were ambulance crew. Read that again: Ambulance crew.

Now, this happened in rural Ireland, which is a pretty nutty place, but still....

If the ambulance crew are not taking social distancing and masks seriously...maybe they know something we don't.
