Timber for sale - Ideal for firewood

Thanks for all the PM's. Instead of answering all individually, I hope to put all the answers here!!

 

If anybody wants to buy some timber, we've got around 150 tonnes of cored wood for sale. It's mainly Sycamore, Ash and a little bit of Cherry. There's more Sycamore than anything. It's roughly 6-7ft in length and varies in diameter. Only felled 6 weeks ago. Ideal for next seasons firewood (or this seasons if desperate!!!). £30/tonne collected. We are not interested in haulage so any buyers must arange this themselves.

£30.00 a tonne road side is expensive u need some one who is close to u to buy it with there own fowarding trailer or wagon most timber haulage companies will charge a minumum of £10.00 per tonne +17.5%vat.and the max load is 25.5tonne and hard wood is a lot heavier so the wagon wont have the full volume capacity when loaded.I would ask £25.00 a tonne road side that will allow for the buyer towards haulage costs.good luck

i thought £30 was cheap for the size of it, it sounds perfect for the firewood machines and nice and easy to handle, i was talking to a guy yesterday who lives on Arran, the coal merchant is charging £18 a hundred weight:sneaky2:

It's mainly sycamore and ash, and they are less dense than a lot of softwoods when freshly felled. You'd get 1.28 cu. m ash and 1.2 cu.m syc in a tonne.

maybe try giving Nick Courtyer a call , you may well know hin he has a log business on the Newton to Ipplepen road , i know he is usually looking for timber but sadly i dont have his number .
