 Is it.?...I'll leave this here, ?. ??

only joking, I think trying a new chain would take one variable out,  having 2 doggs another. Or flip the bar over to see if anything changes

And put a new powermate rim on .

Put a straight edge across the bar without chain on it! need something a foot odd so comes over handle then mark handle with say red tape? (ideally saw sat on bench/held secure and maybe a helper?)Choose which side you want marker to sit so say edge on left side of bar then put tape there then when cutting line is just to right of tape and you could also do other side also then have a bar width gap marked to use as a guide so can easily see if cutting doolally?

As Steve said earlier, one thing that I see when people bring saws in is the bar being poorly looked after. What will really hurt performance is not only the rails being uneven or not dressed properly, but the gutter being worn as well. The more movement the chain is allowed on the bar, the worse your cutting performance will be. Like with at least one other thing in life I can think of,  you want a tight groove that's properly lubricated.

I have double dawgs/sdpikes on my big saws but not on the smaller ones ( 60cc downwards )  as I find it makes snedding/de limbing less efficient .

Aye , back in the day a lot of the saws used for felling/ dressing out softwood were run without a spike, it was a lot easier to roll a saw round a tree without taking the saw off the tree between cuts, particularly on spruce where the limbs grow in rings..
