What changed?  Things about here have been quiet for the last few weeks, odd job here, odd job there, enough to get a living but no more. Today I've taken three jobs for next week. What changed?

Phone and e-mail have gone berserk the last week.

Spoke to a friend who typically quotes around 9 jobs a week; he did that just yesterday and is now booked to September.

They are queuing that long to get into the local recycling centre, at least they are at home waiting for their jobs to be done :D

People can only wait so long, and with everyone being stuck at home they are seeing more things that need doing. you only need to look at the amount of posts made since lockdown in the home owners section, or the massive influx in new tip sites added to the directory. People with money will still be looking for things to spend it on.

Yes but the guy does a lot of commercial work too.

April was completely dead, May has been a bit mad in the repair sector but I think when peoples employment situation kicks in and the money they have been saving whilst not going out is spent, it will change dramatically and not in a good way. It may be money saved from not going on holiday this year?

Sorry to piss on the fireworks but some of the companies going tits up are massive and think it will take a while for us to get back to some sort of "normal" and spending ££££ will slow down dramatically!

I've been none stop since the beginning of lockdown. I was one of them that continued to work and it paid off. Swept up the work others didn't do because they shutdown.
