In Welsh locally its rwden for swede & meipen for turnip but often  rwden for both i think.

 

But its probably  different words in other parts of Wales as they speak a different version of the language down south and mid Wales etc than they do in the North.

Swede= bigger with flavoursome yellow flesh, essential ingredient of pasties.

Turnip= smaller with white, more watery less tasty flesh. Inferior to swede except when served with haggis and tatties when it becomes one of the greatest culinary triumphs known to mankind.

Either vegetable would make a better U.S. president than Biden or Trump.
