Mk6 has the 2.4 duratorq common rail IIRC. The flashing glowplug light relates to low fuel rail pressure. We had to replace a few pumps at about 120k miles.

They are a ballache to sort without the proper ford diagnostics, they run through all the whole engine management system in quite heavy detail, even down to injector percentages. Anyone running a few of these older fords should get this setup, codes keys and pumps as well.

Mixture of water and sludge, I've washed it out with clean diesel the best I can and put it back on until I can get a new one in the morning. Started first time no trouble.

Yeah, my mate used to own the factors before he sold out to EU, not The EU, another countrywide factors, he is still the local depot manager, but not able to nip over and get parts for people like he used to.

You most likely know but fill the filter up with diesel before you put it back on then prime it to start, If any issues crack an injector then turn it over and she will fire up
