Hang fire. They seem to be warming to socialist principles. They may yet cover the SE and those on zero hour contracts etc. See what our illustrious leader and his carers come up with today.

Socialist principles, that will be required to be paid back. As a stop-gap to returning to the real world....

Only a socialist ever thinks these things come for free, or from the government.

The easiest way for the government to provide the SE's with SSP would be to go by their tax code, I believe that some SE's may have been a bit creative with their SA in the past but no situation is ideal and something is better then nothing.

They can’t have their cake and eat it- if you’ve been fiddling the books to avoid paying tax- then it may come back to bite you (not literally you btw!). And rightfully so.

Has anyone else looked into this 80% pay for employees?
I’ve got someone off isolating so was trying to look into it today.
From what I can gather, you will only be able to apply for the 80% grant if you would otherwise make the employee redundant. If your not planning redundancies then its SSP, which is a lot different!
If this is right, I wouldn’t hold out much hope for a decent SE deal.

I haven't held out any hope of a decent SE deal, nor am I hoping that work will pick up any time soon, so today I've taken a 3 months on the books job to see me through.
