Just listening to the budget and announced that in 2 years time the relief on duty for Red Diesel will be abolished except for agriculture, rail (maybe some other sectors).  This could have a huge impact on our industry too.

So from my simplistic assessment earthmoving outfits/quarries must be less trustworthy, or a bigger identified source of fraud, than Agriculture, fishing and rail?

Does this mean red diesel will be abolished and only certain sectors can get the rebate on white fuel?

So are they saying diggers / dumpers / telehandlers on building sites will have to use white?!

I would take it as this yes

Ooof. Watch white diesel get stolen from every building site going!

So I assume they’ll be coming around to sites dipping the tanks of Plant, or are they stopping red diesel and everyone uses white (inc farming etc) only they can reclaim the duty?
