Small battery saw required. Best bang for my buck??

I've been thinking about getting a small battery ground saw for next to the chipper etc and when lads need to just snip bits up once lowered. Only really for prep for chipper to be fair.

What is there out there that's reasonable? I've seen some Stihl at 300 odd quid but is there anything cheaper that would do the job? Lads may hate this idea so might not even get used much at all.

I have no interest In any other battery gear so using batteries for other things would not apply.

Thanks in advance.

Even without the batteries being used for other stuff- bang for buck I’m well chuffed with mine, not the most powerful but no issues with 8” and below. Can do bigger but that’s when it starts to slow and use up battery. I’ve had mine for 2 years now and aside from a new chain havn’t had to touch in in regards maintenance etc

The Makita battery ones are pretty good.  EGO are about to launch their 18" battery saw with 20m/s chainspeed which is pretty good price and their batteries last a good while too. They are definitely cheaper than stihl and husqvarna and while not a big named brand apart from their recent explosion onto the market.

Makita all the way. As said, you can then share batteries with drills etc which you may already have?

You say you aren’t interested in any other battery kit but the big makita hedgecutter is excellent too, and not expensive if you already have batteries. Just saying like...

... and the Mak 3/4” impact wrench, strimmer, angle grinder, SDS drill, I have found them all to be very good tools.

The 3/4 impact wrench is my favourite tool tbh - I had a wheelnut nearly defeat it the other day though (standard socket so not delivering its full potential).
I allowed the nut a couple of seconds to consider its options as I checked the charge in the battery (which was low) and sure enough, the nut decided that coming undone at the next attempt was its least-worst option.

So the impact wrench has maintained its clean sheet to date!
