What do you use to store logs by the fire?

I tend to stck them up on the hearth or in the coal bucket. Normaly I need to fetch more logs in in the morning so I keep my kindling uderneath the saw horse and brng that in at the same time.

 

My problem is I have a fire gueard still to keep the boys safer, so I can't really put in a basket or similar.. however I like the log store and I might have a thnk about that (got some decent boards in the garage I can use, plane them down, stain them and varnich and that cold be OK)

With the debris from the stove and 5 dogs, the wife bes hoovering most mornings anyway.

I use an old metal washing tub bowl. It looks the part, holds a days worth of wood and doesnt allow any debris to fall through. The tub is just for storing though, I use one of these to carry the logs in as can carry it one handed: Esschert Canvas Fireplace bag. The box for the kindling is a cheap £5 IKEA job: Knagglig pine box.

AS do I but both handles have broken off and there is now a split in the bottom, still holds logs but the Mrs is protesting.  Can't think why ?
