Guys

Any ideas of a cheaper alternative to a genuine ifor williams pump on a tipping trailer...it lifts up so far and just spins as if now doing anything.

Are they repairable?

Is there a similar pump from something else that will do the job?

Thanks in advance ?

Re: replacement...maybe this?

"Flowfit 12 V DC single acting hydraulic tipper power pack, 4.5 / 8 litre reservoir c/w 2 button pendent. 5 l/min @ 160 bar...

much cheaper than the full bore Ifor Part though.

Fill the oil up - sounds just like a low oil issue if it gets everything moving in the first place.

The flowfit pumps are excellent value for money but make sure you get one with a big enough oil reservoir...

Also, unless you pay quite a bit extra you will lose the manual pump facility with the flowfit version.

Which is handy when ever so slightly overloaded.

I discovered once when I forgot my lead, that you can put a piece of wire in the plug outlet from the top left to the bottom and it will make the trailer go up , r

top right to bottom to make it go down.

Made my tipper wireless now which avoids having to have a  lead, and meaning you can tip from the vehicle seat!
