Is it this that's failing, the limit switch?

Genuine Timberwolf Limit Switch - This limit switch is widely used accross the Timberwolf Model Range. This is a spare...

Yes it is this that has failed 3 times this year with increasing frequency, this last switch lasted maybe 20 hours use.

I would, but why isn't it blowing the fuse to protect the switch?, moisture possibly?

Yes would think the 25a fuse would go on the engine. The last switch lasted less than 20 hours use so doubt that moisture could build up, my chipper is stored in nice dry garage

Whats going wrong with the switch they are pretty robust, just they don't like water in them. Is the gland nut on the cable present and intact.

The white plastic screw bit do you mean? It all screws together watertight but they keep on failing for some reason i do not know. I cannot see what it is actually in the switch that stop its working, but i replace with a new one and it works again miraculously, for a short time at least then rollers stop feeding in by them selves. Then i have to press and hold down the green feed in button to get rollers to feed in but then this evtually stops working also. pretty annoying! What can go wrong apart from moisture getting in, are there any visible signs of damage when the switched go wrong?

Burn't contacts if its drawing too much power and blowing the fuse, 25 amp is a fair fuse. The switch only connects to the no stress unit and then the forward reverse solenoids, but they do not draw much power, on my 150 anyway. Could tag into timberwolf as they are normally helpful. @Timberwolf Official

Is your tw125 switch’s on top of the hopper the old round buttons? If so was the same as my old one, I used to undo the four screws to get to the wires take each one out clean and put back then a good spray with wd40 , if the seal around the control box isn’t married up water will get in, sometimes even condensation can cause it to play up also. Do you take out the relays and clean off also dirt can get in between and push em apart. Good luck

Maybe you do need an electrician, but in the end there has to be something physically wrong somewhere. The stop switch isn't wearing out normally, should last for years.

My suggestion was some rubbed through cables causing too much current through the switch, which will burn out the contacts. If the fuse is 25A then there could be 20A going through the switch without taking out the fuse, this will certainly melt it.

Alternatively, bad connections cause a lot of sometimes weird looking electrical faults so it could be that. I'm guessing you shouldn't need to change the switch to sort that though.

My brother had a MK2 Ford Escort years ago, all sorts of things would happen like indicators coming on when you braked. At first we would try to work out what strange electrical magic was going on but in the end it was always a bad connection from the wiring loom to the body somewhere so the fix was emery paper and a blob of vaseline to keep the moisture out.

If 20A would take the switch out why would the manufacturer put a 25A fuse in the circuit?, the fuse is supposed to be the weakest link put there to protect the switch.
