Still battery vs husqvarna battery?

On paper the Stihl and Husqvarna range look very similar specs/price.

I think you are right ! At the moment I’m leaning towards the husq as I haven’t heard of any problems with the motors spinning in the case .

Hated the old Stihl battery top handle. The chain brake being the on/off switch just wasn't ok in my opinion. 

Used the husqy a bit, and seems good. If I didn't have a 150 I'd get one. Just not in the rain mind. Used their battery blower in the rain, it electrocuted me and hasn't worked properly since.

Worked on a Stihl 161T battery saw today, not oiling, oil pump buried inside the the machine, drive gear consists of a ribbed band around the motor, this is supposed to be bonded to the motor, however it has fallen off so no pump drive, advised its not available as a spare part, you have to buy a complete motor, awful design, and expensive to repair, saw two months old, at least Husqvarna has a decent oil pump.

Moved to the dark side! Got the same machine model with same fault to look at next week. These battery machines are like working on hairdryers, no soul!

Surely that would be a warranty repair then, so won’t cost anything?

Yes warranty, but is this ongoing? It really is a poor design, it's almost like the built the saw and suddenly thought hell we forgot about a pump, let's just shove it here.

I see all sorts Steve, like to keep an eye on the opposition.

Not got it and I am not Stihl affiliated so cant do warranty repairs although if I get kit in under warranty, I give the customer the option.

I have a 161t and its barely done any work at all and stopped oiling completely! took it apart and saw the floppy black band hanging off

This has just happened to mine, had it just over a month, most of that time it wasnt being used as was christmas, what im worried about is that it is just going to happend again in a few days time when repaired under warranty!
