There's a market for it right now.
Resin and bow ties are very fashionable.
Warped and cracked is in.

Yes I'm not knocking "selling the defect" just saying it isn't the sort of thing I managed to sell.

I milled some boards of Turkey oak for a mate a few years back. Not seen them but apparently they have stayed fairly true with only cracks on the ends. Time will tell as they want me to make a dining table from them in due course. Looked great when fresh cut

Yeah it's useless outside, can't dry it outdoors either, had an issue with green mold but that's dried now.

I'm just hoping to save a few trees from the chipper. The site is arranged and we are ready to go so if anyone wants some or knows of anyone else who might get in contact.

We can load or arrange haulage on smaller loads if needed. I'll post some pics next week.

I think it needs to be felled before you can decide on anything, shake is rife in Turkey oak , and it would only be fit for the chipper if that's the case.

Felled some large turkey oaks a while back split and cracked on hitting the ground I’d wait till it’s down then see what it’s like

We had a couple of large ones split at the crown when dropped. Does appear brittle compared with robur.

To follow up we've started knocking them over and I'm certainly enjoying felling between the rain.  Here's a few pictures from the first week
