2 Stroke Oil. M/Cycle type any good? Options?

Hi All,

I've tried a search and I can''t find the thread I read about it.

Long story short. My local dealer where I used to but Stihl 2 stroke oil has closed.

Being lazy (time limited) as I am I was thinking of using a mail order M/cycle 2 stroke oil instead. Fully Synth Castrol

  • Is there anything I should be looking out for?
  • Or is there a 2-stroke chainsaw oil I can get online that is recommended?

Sorry to be old fashioned but Aspen isn't an option before you offer.

Thanks in advance.

Bob

Many peeps in the USA use motorcycle 2 stroke.in saws

But.. as you did not say what saw your using. I know Husky's need a better oil than the stihl red stuff. As it’s not up to the rating.

So with that in mind, look at the recommended oil rating the saw manufacturer states. And check what the oil your gonna buy says on the bottle..

I use Red Line Racing 2 stroke oil . ( have done for years ) I used to mix it with pump fuel but now mix it with Aspen or Husky equivalent at 50:1 . You can get it on line via Opie oils and othe vendors if you shop around . I'm pretty sure it exceeds , the spec of any of the top oils around .
