A little tip for those interested, when shooting snow scenes.

Snow reflects a lot of light, tricking the cameras light meter into down rating the exposure value, over exposing the image from between 1-2 stops ensures the snow is white rather than under exposed and grey.

nice snow pics guys. BRRRRRRR

Yep, have to agree with you there Andy..

The blame culture has really put paid to alot of things that used to happen within a community..

As for the farmers helping out in snow and gritting etc - they would probably want compensation from the council these days... farmers do nothing for nothing it seems.

I hate the idea that you could live next door to somebody and never have a conversation...

What has the world come to... it's all very sad really, and mostly all to do with 'liability' it seems.

why should farmers be expected to drop everything when it snows, a farm i used to work on when i was younger was on the outskirts of a small village, when it snowed and the milk tanker couldnt get to us we used to give the people free milk, i remember once being asked to clear the road out of the village, we were nearly finished when we hit a manhole cover, bent the front end loader quite badly, big expense but no thanks!

Yesterdays walk to the work shop across some rape fields ..all roads in and out of the village blocked by fools that cant drive and all stacked up! no power for all night so had to go and get my camping gear and blow torches for toast from the work shop so antje got her coffee and every one was happy ....the rest of the day was followed by a marathon monopoly session, we felt a bit disapointed when the power came back on!
