Thanks,@Mark J and@Gary Prentice. I’ll have a look on the laptop later. I assume these methods of ascribing a monetary value to trees are what the courts use when someone’s suing someone for harming/stealing/converting/etc a tree?

Cavat is the method mos commonly used in he circumstances you describe , as well as used by LAs in TPO contraventions where trees have been removed.

I-tree is more as a aid or tool used in planning and strategy for green infrastructure.

To me, retaining the tree and removing the section of wall from the drop to the curve on the corner and replacing with a decent fence would be the best and probably cheapest solution.

All depends if the client can live with the look of it.

Take the wall away( or a least to a suitable distance from tree) plant a hedge, privacy, beauty, wildlife friendly, what’s not to like!

Yes. You could take the wall back until it's clear of the area of disturbance, finish each end with a nice pier and plant a hedge in between.

Then when it's big enough, lay the hedge. ?

If you read the article you may conclude that CAVAT makes little or no attempt to measure the environmental benefits from trees. It's an accounting exercise for trees as assets and an optimistic starting point for compensation for tree loss or damage. Helliwell makes no effort to value environmental benefits. itree eco makes an effort.
