I don't think it's fair at all. They've blatantly copied the design and all the hard work a climber has put in to rip it off and dropped a pig ugly product

Ye its a fucking disgrace really. Bunch of pricks.

I don't think Kevin Bingham has anything to worry about!!

It all works well enough but the zig zag for srt still has one major flaw (to be discussed) that stops it being a true SRT device.

I'm happy with it, for what I need it for, though so far.

In fact two flaws really!

Not midline attachable is the main one. But also if using a spliced eye (as we are told we should) then it will only go on one end of the rope, but sometimes while setting up srt you end up not using the end you think you are going to use.

It's fine for top anchoring your line and then switch to Ddrt which is how ill use it, but for many applications setting a hitch after the line is installed is much easier.

midline attachable is a big plus for srt work.

obviously didnt pay enough attention whilst they were copying the rope wrench!!!

The chicane is mid line attachable, so while they were copying that they were bang on. It's the original design of the zig zag that is a problem.

Petzl are obviously trying to get in on the srt market (even though they insisted on no srt for zig zag originally).

No being able to attach it via spliced eye end, but needing to avoid termination knots is just annoying.

My RW will still be getting plenty of use, but I'm happy with what the petzl set up can do so far.
