Defo out cuts a 461!

No it won't.
A 500i slows to 10krpm in the wood, whereas a 461 will hold 11k+.
Be good to test in different diameter wood against a 461 and 661.

Of course it will though! Stihl are hardly going to make a saw which outperformed the model above it! I can't imagine sales of the 661 would be too clever if it did...

Have you used a 500i Rough Hewn?

That's me in the video at last years apf.
Stihl people told me to listen to the revs drop to 10k in the wood.

IMO the 462 replaces the 440/441 and the 500i replaces the 460/461
Look at the bar lengths they can pull.
