Not an answer Mark - sorry - but I actually upsized my Zubat from a 240 to a 300 because for the really small stuff I have the brilliant Gomtaro.

I wonder if the handles are interchangeable from 300mm to 240?  If so all you need is your present handle with a 240mm blade and you can have my scabbard.

Is anyone using the shorter Zubats, 240 or 270?
I need a new one, and with my 2511 getting used a lot more now I was thinking of downsizing.
It’s pretty much reserved now for really small stuff and dodgy backcuts.
Had 240 gomatoro or similar, was fine but found a 300 and bit handier I reckon, especially for reaching out on tips to pull them in a bit.

Not a huge difference though really.

That’s a very kind offer mate, thank you.

I’ll let you know how I go.

I have a 330 zubat which I modified to 270 by pinching the tip in a conifer hedge, being tight I have just ground the end to a round profile and carried on.

I don't miss the extra on smaller branches, it's the 3 inch or over where I notice, especially like you said topping cut on spindly pole on a windy day. I'll be going back longer on the replacement blade even though I've recently bought an MS150 so silky not out as much.
