It’s strange they’re always described as shy, because ours are pretty brazen. They’re used to being apex predators I suppose. They’ve done for the bunnies but the hares are thriving. We have leveretts in the wood yard - the first one I saw I thought “funny looking rat”.

I was busy yesterday, big long log that was on other logs that were on a bank. 
so I had to come up with a way to mill it in safe way (the log was very stable whole). And couldn’t be cut it in half as it would have rolled/moved and I had no way of moving it 

it was aprox 6mt long and wider than my 29.5 inch cut on my 660.

however the 660 suffered and somehow seized on the 3rd/4th cut, so I was left with my 461 and the 36” bar to finish it. Once the log was more of a manageable size and moveable once cut in half the last cuts were done

Slow and worth it 😉

Another day on the Mill. Mostly plain Jane Scottish Oak but also some Cherry.




Swapped the days work for a couple of cracking Ash Saw Logs and a good 1t lump of Elm.
