Would lengths of 4x1 be ok as spacers? Does it matter if they’ve been treated? Got loads of off cuts from my last barn. Tia

I'd say ideally you'd run through daw bench at get 1x1s ( or maybe 1x2s if lazy). I think the 4 '' contact on the wood would be detrimental to drying

Ive been told not to use treated wood either as it can stain the freshly milled wood. But its not affected my Elm, Beech or Oak so far.

Has anyone on here ever used PVC window trims as stickers? only asking as I have easy access to free damaged ones, they are 5m lengths, you can get various block sizes.

as long as they won't crush under the weight i don't see why they'd not be a good option especially if you have access to loads free.

 

perhaps a bit thin for some people?

 

i'd prefer 3/4" myself.

The only issue might be the fact plastic is non porous, I would imagine moist wood possibly discolouring.
