I have a MS 661 and now I'm looking for a chainsaw mill guide to go with it. If anyone knows what is the best to buy then I would be much appreciated. thx m

What size logs do you intend to mill?
Do you want to cut live edge slabs or planks and beams?

Planks for table tops to begin with, fancy a 2" walnut plank about 6 feet long, maybe two 300mm joined together. I watched this guy on utube alot and he's real good.

The “best to buy” will very much depend on your budget. But a cheap 36” Chinese Alaskan at around £100-£120 would get you up and running fairly cheaply. Obviously you’ll need a 36” bar and chains but regardless what you go for you’ll need those. That will allow you to cut 30” wide logs.

His channel was good about 10 years ago. Since it went commercial it got really sh1t. Totally sold himself out. Hey it’s his income so hard to blame him but it’s a shame. The early days on his channel were nice viewing.

I watched that video of his when I was looking at setting up the racking system, but have since upgraded what he was doing.

There was another chap to who had a better design of it, but again I made changes to that design to.
