Started on oak today, hit iron a couple of times. Ripped off some cutters and snapped another chain. But got some boards done. Using the 881 with 64” bar.
Wondered why you use the ladder after 1st cut off.. but I think I get it now. Will make the entry and exit on subsequent slabs a lot easier/straighter[emoji2] . Will try that when milling next?!

Those boards of the Sycamore, they are roughly 3 cube.
Beautiful timber too, what sort of price would YOU pay per board.
Obviously these are green, I sell at seasoned price so give me two,one for green and one seasoned that you would be happy paying?

Are you asking the community this question?

Probably others on here who have sold a lot more than me, what sizes are the boards?

I find it a lot easier with the ladder on each cut. Yes going in and coming off much better result.
I also find less strain on the saw and less vibration along the way IMHO. Just means you have to add the ladder into the board thickness equation. [emoji106]

Run that new 881 rig with a 2 man crew what a massive difference. Totally on the ladder thing with a heavy saw but if you do get the chance for a pal moving the slabs about in easy peezy

Yeah mate. [emoji106]my old boss helps me get em in the trailer for moving. But yeah extra hands is always a help. Starting to fill a small barn with all these slabs.
