You’ll have to forgive me as i’m not from a tree working background so your ratchet mech’s may differ, but the type i have in mind are the load restraint type ratchet mech. Like below.

You need two straps and two ratchets.

Two ratchets, two straps - they are both essentially doing exactly the same pull, but you tension/winch with one of them, then do the same with the next before releasing and shortening the first. 

Get ya!!!! Was over thinking what hairyonyourchest said in his post. And obviously as mark said, your spool is soon full.... release use other etc yada yada yada [emoji106][emoji106][emoji106] i had one ratchet two straps as an image with me stood in the middle scratching my ass!! ??‍♂️[emoji23]
