Sounds interesting actually! If any veg died then at least you wouldn’t be presented with a vets bill [emoji6]

We farmed sheep and cows till selling up in 96, i rekon fruit and veg farming would of been easier and less hassle than dealing with livestock. Weather wouldnt of allowed much tho in the way of food growing round here tho i bet.

We had a herd of Highlands, sheep and a few pigs too, but you're right, most of the time the carrots stayed where you put them.

Golly- reading this thread makes me realise how hideously boring my life has been so far.

Grew up on a hill farm on Dartmoor- spent early life messing around with rocks, daming streams and generally making a nuisance of myself.

Left school at 16 with dreams on life on the open seas.joined the Navy- left/discharged 5 days later- dream over.

Thought I’d go up to Scotland to become a forester- attended 6 months at Barony didn’t really work out. Went to Leamington Spa- trained as a tree surgeon- worked as that for about 5 years.

Returned to Dartmoor and started my own business building Devon banks/walling and digger work- been doing that for 10 years now and probably always will until I fall of the perch!

Interesting to see I am not the only person who's had a few career changes.
18 left school with 1 crap A level. Trainee computer programmer for 2yrs, got bored went travelling/climbing .
Barwork at for a year.
Psych nurse for 7yrs. Did way too much Raving. Got bored went travelling/climbing.
2yrs nz/aussie/nepal farm work, fruit picking, kitchen work, nursing.
Back to UK and psych nursing, then to uni in Scotland to do general nursing for 12yrs.
Had kids, got bored of work so became a stay at home dad for 18 months. Kept busy making stuff/working on our house/garden. Decided to try and use my 20yrs climbing experience, got chainsaw tickets and worked for local arb firm. Set up on my own, almost 3yrs ago.

no I think it's like Stihl 4-mix - they work best with the valve gaps about 0.1mm, but will stihl run rough when they are way out
