Blowing hydraulic hose solution

I’m upgrading my mewp, the one I’m interested in keeps blowing the same hose, the mewp has been fitted to a leyland dad 4x4 with a big hydraulic pump, is it likely to be too big a pump or a knackered relief valve? If it’s the pump I’m assuming you could fit a flow restrictor? Thoughts please

If it's bursting when  not damaged it's over pressure. Either the pressure relief is set too high or it or pipework too small.

Hard to say without knowing more, You could look a sticking a flow divider in, 1 way valve, pressure relief valve set to what the mewp will stand, just be careful you don’t end up cooking your oil. Might be aswell to have a second pump for mewp sharing same tank, suppose it depends on budget and how much experimenting you want to do.

The pressure relief valve is usually on the valve block.

How big is the pipe that keeps blowing? Assuming the pressure was set OK, and it a biggish pipe, may be someone's replaced it on the cheap in the past with a 1 or 2 wire hose, and it should of been multi spiral/wire hose, and the following replacement hoses have been made the same (wrong type)?

It’s blown twice in same place, proper hose

As above. Do you know for definate the hose has the correct burst strength? If i take a busted hose to my supploer, he makes one up to the same spec, so if wrong before, its wrong again

is the pump a gear pump or piston pump ? 2 very different pumps with different working pressures and needing different type of hose have a look at the working pressure on the other hoses it will be stamped on.

Not sure, runs off the gear box so assume it’s a gear pump
