Thanks guys, very kind of you all. I love turned stuff, but i dont have a lathe, and i think that i actually prefer doing it freehand getting wobbliness, which to me is a bit more like wood in its natural state. It is hard to really polish the inside though.

The wood came from a huge beech which was as spalted as that from the bottom of the 4' dia trunk to the tip of the branches.

Try something like this to polish the inside, attaches to drill. You will probably find something cheaper else where tho.
