Red Diesel

Not on a depot pump in Birmingham it’s not Richard this is a collected yard price. In bulk that’s a whole different scenario a 1000 litres would be around the 58/59 mark at moment but market will change again

No doubt it will keep going up for the time being. I saw a story that OPEC are thinking of increasing output so that will have some effect to bring it down a bit if it happens.

As for a pump price on red I wouldn’t know as I’ve never even looked for any

I imagine yes, the dreaded black sludge, now more common due to the small %age of added "biodiesel" that absorbs any water that would otherwise sink to the bottom of the tank.

i.e. "old" diesel was better than the newfangled "new" diesel.

sigh !

Does diesel have a shelf life like petrol does?

morning commando, unfortunately now it does because of the lack of sulphur present in red diesel it used to be 1000ppm now its 10ppm

we try and combat this by offering fuel additives that you can add to the fuel which add to shelf life and improve cetane in the fuel.

we do additives at just £15 plus VAT

Thx for speedy reply, so realistically how long will it store in an IBC if treated with additives?

If you are gonna store it long term in an ibc make sure you put a cap on the tap, apparently the seals can rot out after a while
