Which cordless impact gun?

Thinking of getting one and wondered what the advice is? What voltage, make etc

Impact wrench for nuts? I've got a milwaukee m18 and there's not much it won't shift, makes changing chipper blades much faster and it took nuts off a 12ton trailer that hadn't been touched for 5 years the other day.

I`ve got a 1/2" drive Makita 18v, had it quite a few years with no problem. The 1/2" air wrench hardly ever comes out now, the cordless with a well charged battery is similar in performance. The newer brushless ones are a higher maximum tightening torque, and that's what I`ll buy as a replacement if needed.

All my other cordless stuff is 18v Makita, so that plays a big part all using the same batteries.

i had a milwaukee 18v one and it was ok, replaced with a 18v 5ah dewalt one and its streets ahead, batteries are great and wow it shifts all i ask.  

 

Mate has 3/4 drive milwaukee and its incredible, hasnt met a bolt yet wont undo - downside is need new sockets in 3/4.

Just to add it's a milwaukee fuel (brushless) I have and if you're comparing batteries the only difference between 4ah and 5ah, and the 8 you can now get,  is how long they last between charges.

Do you have any 18v kit already? If so think most of the big brands do pretty good kit when it comes down to it so juts buy a bare model to suit what you have.

I went for the Dewalt 899 2x 5ah batts £300 approx. 1/2" drive for me, not doing heavy plant. LED is good enough to locate stuff in poor light

I have a comparatively small 18v brushless makita, one of the best tools I have. Makes so many jobs so much easier!

Original thought came from taking the wheels off the Wench's Mini, wondered how she would manage. Thought about getting one to leave in the garage for when I'm fettling, so more domestic use than serious things like truck wheels etc. I could go Air, as there is a compressor int'garage!
