The reason i ask is because I've never sold it before. I ordered 27 ton of beech and they delivered 60% Elder....cheeky fxxkers [emoji109]


Elder as in Elderflower?
Must be tiny stuff? Never seen anything much bigger than 6” and I’d probably say it’s on par with willow and poplar at best?

If the wood is all green  I wonder which of the two has more dry mass, beech or alder? I don't have a moisture content for fresh alder. I think most would prefer beech as it is denser

Alder has around 60% of the dry mass of Beech. Personally i would not want much, in fact i usually mix it with the softwood rather than hardwood as i don't think i can justify selling it at hardwood price. 

 

On the plus side it dries more easily than Beech.
