Japa 370 processor premature bar wear

As far as I can tell it’s not the chain going blunt quickly seems to be the bar wearing before the chain gets a chance to dull. The bar gets a good shot of lube on 6 inch stuff not so sure if you put lots of 12 inch stuff through

I sorted all my problems in the end by fitting a Sugihara Bar, all my problems disapeared.  Bars been on a year or so now and still fine.

Thanks for letting me know . I have checked our machine everything looks spot on unworn and in-line . I am thinking it could be poor quality bars . Might order one up and give it a go

I think Sugi bars are made from Kriptonite whilst others are made by Cadburys .

My mate has just had the same on hilkie pikie. And turned out to be the drive sprocket worn

Just come across this old thread . I have the same problem with my 20yr old Japa 2100 processor. Moving Sugi Hara Solid bars now which are fantastic, unfortunately still sometimes get the jamming problem. The problem seems to be caused by a number of things, (1)me not sharpening saw teeth evenly causing saw to jam as fixed unlike chainsawing a tree , (2) chain bar groove wears slightly wider allowing 1.5mm chain to wobble and jam, so replace with a 1.6 mm chain .

I find that I get on better with sharpening a semi chisel chain than full chisel. 
I have wrecked a chain by some how taking the depth gauge tips down to much causing the chain to snatch/ jam so much so I had to bin it, and that was using Stihl 2-in-1 EasyFile so don’t know how I managed that!!!

Our problem turned out to be the feeble pumps fitted . When the machines enter the uk they are set up with smaller chain . This is up graded because we are mainly cutting hard woods in the uk .

we fitted a different oiling system from that point on we could cut for hours without sharpening or dressing bars . Even cheap bars lasted well
