Hello Gents,

I run a small tree business in Hampshire and give a lot of wood away to various friends and organisations.  Admittedly, this is green and directly from site as I don't have the yard space (or desire) to process logs for sale.  I am looking for someone in Leeds to offer something similar for my sister.  She's a midwife at LGI and so is careful with her money.  No Lawson, Leyland, Cypress or Hemlock.  It can be in cord as I will process when visiting and can be tipped on private drive.  If cash is a factor, then I shall pay you for it.

Thanks for reading this.

Matt

She would be mad not to accept soft wood you mention . I have been burning mostly Leylandei this winter and it is superb .  Oh , just thought , is it an open fire ?

NO Lawson leylandi  cypress or hemlock, WHY NOT it all burns when dry, Lawson and sitka on my stove as I wright this gives good heat and better than some hardwoods , even if you take a mixture of both soft & hardwood your more likely to get a regular supply than being Choosey, I have several tree surgeons I collect timber from,  I take some softwood but 70% I would say is hardwood and at the moment have more than I know what to do with.

Apart from stocking the stove up say at bedtime where some slow burn stuff like oak is good i think lawsons and leylandii are great - nice hot burn, light to handle and plentiful. Dont understand folks who wont take it.
