I've got the Hydrocut Screw type and find it's not quick enough for bulk log production.

 

You also have to be on your guard, it can, if you get lapsy daisy, spin the log and wack your fingers.

 

Far too much log handling for my liking, anyone want a nearly new one £700, paid over a grand for it.

Mark, We build the splitters like you see in the picture. We are just up the road from you in Measham on the A444.

A fully speced TW7 is about £6500, but there is nothing to compare to it for processing dimensioned logs from large rings.

 

The Hydraulics on your tractor would be very slow, and unlikely to have sufficient pressure to get full force on the Ram.

Better to run a hydraulic pack off the PTO

nice little wet weather job, or when you finish early, split it up, load up and flog it, surprising how much it'l earn you thru the year!

 

Trouble is Andy there isn't that much of a market for it down here. The only people that want logs are the well of who light the fire 5 times a year etc. They only want one load a year if that.
