That post makes me think of Prince Phillips quote; A few years ago, everybody was saying we must have more leisure, everyone’s working too much. Now everybody’s got more leisure time they’re complaining they’re unemployed. People don’t seem to make up their minds what they want.”

Talks a lot of sense....  Good man!

The Indians have got the right idea, take all the stuff that westerners deem old and unfit for purpose and then use it FOREVER...

I think you’re confusing Indians with the Wombles.

Birthday or Christmas present?

You have a cunning mind Gary!

There was an observable attempt to mildly subdue the burning rage of vesuvian contempt that was obviously simmering just below the surface as I casually announced "...didn't have time for shopping, but there's a card there..." on Christmas morning.

It was a sufficiently volatile and finely balanced a situation as you might imagine, so I subdued the urge to follow up with "be January sales before you know it, I'll bag us a bargain...!"

It was a numbers game, I knew she couldn't go full psycho (is that even an "allowed" phrase these days?  I'm confused) since we had the in-laws staying....  It was just a case of seeing if I could bluff it out 'til the sales started :$

I find with commercial stuff, diggers and vans they don't need to put the sell on as they sell them selves almost. I remember when I was digger shopping, whilst I was at the sales desk asking daft questions the bloke on the other desk got a 10 minuet phone call saying I'll have 10 more of those machines, they don't need the sell as people want them.

See on stay at home mum face book sites people moaning about tree surgeons not ringing them back about there apple tree trim, I guess I would't put much time in on the sell for it where as a call about a big take down or clearance i'd be strait over Vaseline in hand.
