That's what a local tree firm are offering on the local jobcentreonline for a climber with CS38, £300 a week, Tesco pay more for shelf stackers! Why would anyone spend a couple of grand on tickets just to earn that sort of money? I'd have to hide my face in shame while handing over a wage like that to someone who's just spent all week with a chainsaw in their hand, I honestly couldn't look them in the eye. Surely an employer knows what sort of money can be made in tree work, and that a climber could make that in a day doing homers? I was going to approach him about sub work, don't think i'll bother now. Sorry rant overO.o

I'm qualified cs 30,31, 38,39 I'm the lead climber and I'm only on £8.

Tree work is only a small part of what I do but even still the pay is atrocious!

The benefits I get out way the negatives. 6month full pay on the sick then 6months half, civil service pension scheme that doesn't cost me a penny, massive job security and guaranted money every month on the dot.

I am luck enough to be an Army Reservist with rank so my pay from this buffers the difference plus and annual tax free bonus of £1700 just for being a member.

I would love to take the plunge and set up my own business but all the above make that a hard decision whilst I have 3 kids 6, 3 and 6 months.

Each to their own, some people wouldn't get out of bed for it others would take it and work thier balls off for it.

CS38 is aerial rescue - they are advertising for a groundsman then.

Advert states "must be comfortable working at height", sounds like they want climbers for brash dragger wages.

Become a professional footballer.

Based on 250k per wk and 5 x 8 hour days thats £6,250.00 per hour.

They say that bloke who went from Arsenal to Man U this week is on twice that.
