Hit and run uninsured driver.

Was on my way to a job on Saturday when I met a vehicle coming the other way, narrow road. I steered into the hedge but the other vehicle locked up and went into me causing a bit of damage. He got out and accused me of driving too fast, to which I had some choice words in reply, a car came up behind him so he got in his truck to pull out the way only he didn't stop. He just tore off up the road.

Luckily my wife thought he was doing a runner and got his number plate. I managed to limp the hilux back home. I went to the police station who didn't seem bothered.

I spoke to my insurance company aviva who have told me the other vehicle was uninsured. I need my pick up for work and farm duties so was hoping to have it resolved quickly. Aviva on the other hand have told me I have to wait for my truck to be valued by an engineer... I await there call.

I phoned the police and explained that my insurance co have told me the driver had no insurance. There reply was that they would send a letter to the registered keeper and that I have to phone them back mid feb, what a service!05b22ce3b5b2a4330e9561415f3cdac7.jpg

And that is what we pay our taxes for! A local guy had a break in at his yard, a few hundred grands worth of tractor units and trailers there but didn't get pinched, he interrupted them, got the whole thing on video and zero interest from the local police.

Sorry to hear of your issues, never good and not made easier by substandard police service - think they should slap "To Serve and Protect" on the side of the police cars, it may remind them what they are there for!

Turns out the scrotes who robbed us yesterday evening were probably still onsite when the police were called but didn't bother responding. My business partner went one-way looking but they found tracks the other way... It is probably lucky they didn't meet as the outcome of tackling 3 blokes nicking your property is unlikely to be a good one..

That is a tough break...  So much hassle to resolve.

Even if they were insured it could well come down to knock-for-knock on a single track road.

Dashcam, Dashcam, Dashcam!

Remind me which Dash-cam you went for in the end, and why. I know you said on another thread but I can't find it.
