Aye but you unclip it most of the time anyway so it’s still 50/50 I’m not giving it up until I’m forced.. I think it works sweet .. every time I try and put a Chester on its like doing a Rubics cube and I really hated the slings around your shoulder thing .. some times I will just hoy my lanyard over my shoulder off the back of the harness to the hitchcilmber if I’ve left my tether in the bag and I just need to get on.

God no ! Thats horrendous -  its nowt like I have rigged . A sling from small of yr back over shoulders to device , if you pass out you will slip under it . K

One thing I think the Chester has in its advantage, is you can clip in the haas higher and get more progress than off the hitch climber .. not that it is an issue for me any way as it seems you can still get a decent stride off the hitch climber.

I like mine because it's quick.

The Chester is a bit of a fanny-on for a quick job.

That said, I think the Chester contributes to a smoother, more upright style on ascent.

That’s it Mark , quick n easy.... another thing is if your learning SRT I felt it put the ropes I felt in more in line with a position more familiar to ddrt whilst your getting to grips with the system, Chester is on my shopping list next time I’m in gustharts now though for those all day trees I think it could be better and safer.

personally i don't like chest harnesses as i find them too hot and cumbersome. Ive had no issues with a neck elastic for years and never heard of any real incident in the industry.
