best bar for 660 and brand

Hi Mitch,

 Surely, depends on what you are doing.

 

Personally I have a 25" Stihl on mine as regular for anything big.

Also have a 36" Stihl on a mill with a skip chain to slab stuff.

 

I have read lots on here with people using a 18"/ 20" as it has a nice balance and plenty of go.

 

Probably get shouted down but the only other bar I am likely to buy (for the 660) would be a "Sugihara" from RobD i.e.

Mr -   chainsawbars.co.uk

 

IMHO it's a top saw and requires top quality...

Probably Sugihara solid, if you look at chainsawbars.co.uk they have a good choice

The regular Stihl bars are very good as standard, The Sugihara bars are very tough I've found, they need a really good flat file to dress them though (once in a blue moon)

 

Theres hardly any price difference between them at 36" (Sugihara light)

 

Unless my local dealer could do a good price on the Stihl bar i'd probably go for Sugihara as its shiny :lol:
