If you count all the water in the world's oceans it's keeping out something like 326 million trillion gallons so it's not doing too bad

It's fake news as it clearly shows that the BBC has an agenda and is trying to score political points. One moment the BBC are telling us they are one on the world's most respected news sources and the next they are giving us trivial stories like this.

See above post by Lucan, it has been published by a lot of news sources! This fake news travels fast but wait it’s not fake because it is true. You yourself have acknowledged a leak has been discovered on its trial run!

 

Newsworthy or not it isn’t fake, no one made it up! It is a real leak on a real seal on a real ship which the real company that built the real ship have said there is a real leak that they will really fix.

Fair one, I've been out the country and I thought the story was BBC BS.

I  talked to an ex-Royal Navy bloke the other day about this. He said its nothing...this is what sea trials are for. Just the usual media digs at anything British. Move along please

200l/hr can be a catastrophic issue for ship stability - just depends where in the ship it is.  For example, a high pressure salt water ring main on 01/02 deck discharging 200l/hr would be very serious.  The higher above the waterline the greater the potential impact and if 'free surface' can have devastating effect as the water gains momentum and moves athwartships . 

 

200l/hr stern seal leak in a main machinery compartment fitted with salvage pumps would be an insignificant splash in the bilge - maybe a bit embarrassing given the design and built parameters but really, no biggy.
