I'm still intrigued to hear if anyone is pro-Federal European government. The EU is not going to stay what it is now...it's in development. It will have one currency, one Army, one appointed Governing Council...and elected members of a single Parliament. This is what I personally voted against. I'd be interested to hear of someone who really wants the UK to become part of this future Europe?....economies are important but surely Sovereignty is THE most important thing for any Countries future?

...and by the way...I don't disrespect any proEU people's opinions...they are not 'remoaners'....any more than 'Brexiteers' (hate than term too), are jingoistic, nationalistic or raving fascists. All opinions count.

Pretty much sums it up for me Spike, good posts.

As a side note, I heard a whisper 2018 will be the last year diesel chippers (not sure if it applies to all plant) can be made to run without a DPF filter due to EU environmental demands.

Red Diesel doesn’t work well with DPF it forever clogs the filter soooo white diesel it is then! Oh Joy thanks EU.

See here Wes:

I'd put my hand up to that except for one thing; what you imagine is a federal EU is not what I imagine. We can't really discuss our differences when we have two different models in our minds. One army, for example? You really see that happening soon? What I see is a parallel to NATO, almost certainly within NATO, with multinational forces under foreign command, maybe with some permanent multinationally-recruited units.

The whole concept of nations as we think of them today is barely 200 years old; it won't survive another 200 years, and maybe not half that as individual states realise that their 'sovereignty' is inadequate to meet the challenges of the future. Even looking ahead 20 years is pushing things when you're talking about specifics but nothing about the way the EU was heading up till last year worried me particularly, especially as we were there to slow down 'federalisation' to a reasonable pace. After 20 years, is not for us but for our children to decide.

Over the last few years has Europe "protected it's borders"? IMHO, we wouldn't have voted Brexit if Merkel hadn't invited the third world into Europe.

Bollocks.  I voted to leave the EU and it wasn't anything to do with immigration.

Fair enough. However I'd imagine watching millions of unemployable people flood into Europe that hate our secular lifestyle made quite a few people vote Brexit.... The main duty of politicians is to look after their electorates, they clearly aren't doing this when they do little about economic migrants.

I know anecdotal evidence can also be persuasive in winning Internet battles. So here goes, I know a 20 year old British university student that can't get a part time job. Yet at the same time I go to my local Subway sandwich shop and it's staffed almost entirely by East Europeans. EU immigration has made it harder for British people to get jobs.....

Anyway, good to hear from you Mark!

Mate I’m quite shocked you voted leave.

Question for you who who do you think is best in charge to get us out of the EU? Party wise not individually.

Personally I know it wouldn’t and couldn’t of ever happened but when we voted leave and it won we should have had a 50/50 coalition lab/con running the country and running brexit to stop infighting between still remaining or leaving 1 vision for the future then 12 months after we officially left hold a general election. Eh well here’s to common sense.

How longs it been now and where here still debating if we made the right choice instead of what we want to achieve out of the EU and how are we going to get it.

Labour under Corbyn. That coupled with the economic wisdom of Yanis Varoufakis would suit me.
