Good work, well done.

I've done a couple, 1 successful (in that I I bagged it and took it down) 1 where it jumped (but was ok)

A lot depends on how long it’s been up there, if it’s been up there days take some food/drink to lure it to the trunk.

Also wear gloves.

Got a call years ago they had tried everything to get cat down from a large poplar. Turned up and could not see cat thought it was a whined up then i could hear it in a fork in the middle of crown, got all most near little bugger and it made a run for it right out to the end of a limb and could not get it to come back so get silky polesaw sent up and cut limb tip off cat hit floor running.

How many cat skeletons have you seen up trees?  They all come down in the end.

But that doesn't cut much ice with the owners.  I have had 4 'rescues'.  2 were successful, one jumped and the fourth was hilarious.  The cat was sat on the first limb of a Douglas Fir at about 10 metres.  I didn't have a throw line so used a bunch knot to gain access.  Unfortunately the bunch knot hit the cat square on the flank, sending it to the ground where it promptly recovered and ran away.  I didn't charge her as I was too busy stifling laughter.
